MATSUURA USA WELCOMES LOCAL LEADERS TO DISCUSS EXPANSION OF TECHNICAL TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES IN ST. PAUL HIGH SCHOOLS

St. Paul, MN (October 8, 2019) — Matsuura USA recently hosted a workforce development discussion with local St. Paul legislators and community leaders including: Melvin Carter, St. Paul Mayor; Marcq Sung, Director of Business Development for the City of Saint Paul; and Tonya Bauer, Director of Strategic Development for the St. Paul Port Authority.

As part of October’s celebration of Manufacturing, and Mayor Carter’s plan to ‘Ensure economic growth reaches all corners of our city,’ he is visiting local manufacturing facilities.

The mayor understands the need for technical training and is committed to supporting and expanding technical training at St. Paul College and in the St. Paul high schools,” said Craig St. John, Matsuura USA President.

US Manufacturers have an all-time high of 522,000 open jobs, according to the most recent JOLTS data, and a landmark report published last year by Deloitte. The Manufacturing Institute – the workforce and education partner of the NAM – found that 2.4 million manufacturing jobs could go unfilled by 2028.
