IBARMIA Technology to be Distributed Through Matsuura Machinery USA, Inc

Effective immediately, MATSUURA will exclusively import, market, and service IBARMIA products in the USA.

Seeking greater alignment with its target customer (5-axis, multitasking, automation, and flexibility) across multiple sectors, IBARMIA, a member of the EMT Alliance, will distribute its products in the USA through MATSUURA Machinery USA Inc.

The prestigious Japanese machining center manufacturer MATSUURA, renowned for the high quality, precision, and reliability of its machines, with a focus on automation and multifunctionality, already represents complementary machine tool manufacturers in other markets such as the UK and Canada. To expand its offering in the US market, where MATSUURA has been operating successfully since 2013 from its headquarters in Saint Paul, Minnesota, it has decided to complement its product range with the IBARMIA line of machining centers.

“When Matsuura Machinery USA, Inc. approached us a few months ago and proposed complementing their current catalog with our machines, we initially found it quite unexpected, that another manufacturer would lead the sales and support of our equipment in the USA. However, we soon realized that the complementarity between MATSUURA and IBARMIA went far beyond the fine line that marks where one axis stroke ends and another begins. We saw that we shared a long tradition as a family business, a high-quality positioning for our products, a customer-centric vision, and a clear commitment to multitasking technology and automation. We are familiar with the satisfaction of MATSUURA users and distributors (we share some in Europe), and our recognition and respect for the brand were paramount, so this collaboration is an honor and fills us with even greater excitement,” commented Koldo Arandia, Chairman of IBARMIA.

MATSUURA maintains a strong U.S. presence with thousands of spindles installed nationwide, supported by our direct subsidiary and an extensive distributor network,” said Ryan Myers, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Matsuura Machinery USA. “Our success is built on a loyal customer base that consistently chooses Matsuura first. To meet their growing demand for larger-stroke capacity beyond our core product line, we sought a premium partner to complement our portfolio. IBARMIA was the clear choice, aligns perfectly with our high standards, and allows us to deliver a broader range of precision solutions to the market.”

David Modig, CEO and President of the EMT Group, added: “Having known IBARMIA closely through our collaboration within the EMT Group, I see a great potential for IBARMIA in the US and this agreement with MATSUURA as a very positive partnership between two highly respected machine tool manufacturers that would bring excellent results.”

It’s hard to imagine a better setting to finalize this agreement than McCormick Place in Chicago, which is hosting one of the world’s largest gatherings of manufacturing technologies this week at IMTS, where both manufacturers will be present in the South Hall:
