MATSUURA MACHINERY USA TO PARTICIPATE IN PANEL DISCUSSION ON ‘LEVERAGING THE CAPABILITIES OF ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING’ AT 2019 MN MANUFACTURING CONFERENCE

St. Paul, MN (August 20, 2019) — Matsuura Machinery USA, Inc. announced today that Craig St. John, President and Tom Houle, Director LUMEX, NA, will participate in a panel discussion at the 2019 MN Manufacturing Conference on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at the Minneapolis Marriott Northwest in Brooklyn Park.

The discussion is titled, ‘Leveraging the Capabilities of Additive Manufacturing,’ and will begin at 9:35 am in the Workforce Development & Technology Room 3.

Held during Minnesota’s manufacturing month, the two-day event is the largest local manufacturing conference of its kind, designed to bring together members of manufacturing associations and professional business groups from around the state to facilitate business relationships that will strengthen the industry’s profile.

The conference is a one-stop shop for educational seminars and keynote presentations on lean, leadership, technology, and workforce development. It is the only conference in the state that has been created by and designed for manufacturers.

Craig St. John, President:
Craig St. John is a results-driven, diversified strategic leader with more than 40 years of experience in the machine tool, automation and additive manufacturing industries.  St. John’s expertise in many aspects of the machine tool industry, his wealth of experience and his comprehensive industry knowledge are integral in his role as President of Matsuura Machinery USA, Inc.

St. John has a strong record of innovation and success as a strategist and executive leader. He is known for driving growth and profitability and is a results-oriented leader who delivers mission critical results in continuous collaboration with stakeholders.

Prior to joining Matsuura Machinery USA in 2015, St. John served as President of C St John Capital Equipment Consulting in Brea, CA. As a consultant in all areas of CNC Machine Tool and Robotic Automation, St. John provided services to many machine tool distributors, builders and end-users.

St. John also held a variety of leadership positions with Ellison Technologies, including President of the company’s Minneapolis office, President of Ellison’s Rebuild and Used Machinery operation, Corporate Director of Business Development, Executive VP of Ellison’s LA office and two years each with Ellison’s automation and accessories divisions.

An engineer by training, St. John earned a Bachelor of Arts in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Southwest Minnesota State University.

St. John’s proven multi-disciplined career extends to Matsuura’s Hybrid AM Manufacturing solution, the LUMEX Technology. Matsuura’s Hybrid manufacturing, which combines additive and subtractive manufacturing processes can unlock opportunities to develop products that were previously unimaginable.

Tom Houle, Director, LUMEX NA:
Matsuura Machinery USA, Inc.’s Tom Houle is an experienced Manufacturing Professional with a demonstrated history of success in the tooling and plastics industry. He is skilled in new product development, Program Management, Sales and Business development, new Technology adoption and Manufacturing systems and experienced with in-mold sensing and monitoring to measure mold and part performance. Houle has 28 years of continuing experience in the injection mold and molding industry developing turn-key projects for customers all around the globe.

In his role as Director, LUMEX NA for Matsuura USA, Houle leverages his experience in operational excellence and continues to develop a cutting-edge, innovative U.S. presence for Matsuura’s Hybrid AM Manufacturing solution.  He inspires a culture of continuous improvement by defining goals, developing strategies, implementing systems and measuring performance results for the LUMEX product.

Houle has more than 30 years of experience in the mold industry, new product development, engineering solutions, along with his interpersonal skills, business acumen and a passion for manufacturing solutions shows in his passion for the Matsuura LUMEX technology.

Houle earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities.
