St. Paul, MN (February 10, 2019) — Stillwater Middle School students learned first-hand about STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) careers from the people who work in them.
Patrick Ethen, Matsuura USA LUMEX Applications Engineer recently attended the STEM event and collaborated with students how additive manufacturing is used in industry.
According to Chris Fahey, Stillwater Middle School Tech Integration Coach, Speed STEM is an event like speed dating where students spend 5 minutes with 10 different STEM professionals. The presenters devote 2-3 minutes enlightening students.
The GATE program at Stillwater Middle School provides students with a highly challenging instructional program with the goal to meet the academic and social needs of highly gifted learners. These learners are children whose academic abilities indicate the need for in-depth, complex and rigorous curriculum and instruction.
