MATSUURA AND CAMPLETE TRUEPATH ALLOW TK MACHINING SPECIALTIES TO CREATE MORE COMPLEX PARTS IN LESS TIME

St. Paul, MN (August 11, 2020) — TK Machining Specialties (TKMS) is a premier manufacturer that focuses on making the complex simple for aerospace, defense, and medical customers throughout the United States.

Located in Hamilton, Ohio, TK Machining Specialties was founded by Troy Kordenbrock, who today still holds 100 percent ownership. Mr. Kordenbrock came from a Tool and Die background before getting into niche machining. Starting the company in 2011, TK Machining Specialties has grown rapidly, especially in the last two years with the addition of their Matsuura MX-520 5-Axis Vertical Machining Center.

“The addition of 5 Axis machines has allowed TKMS to create more complex parts in less time. The utilization of the additional axis’ means fewer setups and more abilities for production work,” according to a TKMS Spokesperson.

With high-precision, performance, speed, accuracy and reliability, the MX-520 provided a simple, effortless and cost-effective transition from 3-Axis to full 5-Axis operation.

The MX-520 has a compact footprint and outstanding ergonomic design, allowing rapid set-up and processing of complex parts and guarantees high rigidity, a generous machining envelope and excellent operability. The MX-520 also offers an assortment of configurations, which are ideal for all applications, all industries, and all materials.

The Matsuura MX-520 is designed with a RAM type structure, which offers a compact and highly rigid machining platform. The machine guarantees high rigidity, as well as, a generous machining envelope with excellent operability.

The headstock and trunnion on the MX-520 have been configured to minimize collision while maximizing tool access and reach. The MX-520 is offered with two table sizes: 11.81 in. and 19.68 in. (option).  Loading capacity is 440 lb.

Like all Matsuura 5-axis CNC Machines, CAMplete TruePath came standard on the Matsuura MX-520.

Being a small shop, TK Machining Specialties was unable to spend 4-6 months going back and forth through trial and error figuring out their post. Unlike traditional post processors, Mr. Kordenbrock was drawn to TruePath as it was “By and large an out of the box solution.”

When asked what he relies on most with TruePath, Mr. Kordenbrock noted the power of collision checking, especially when getting close to the limits of the machine’s working envelope.
