We are showcasing 5-Axis machines at IMTS, including simple models that make transitioning from 3-Axis machining centers effortless.  We will also have complex models capable of unattended production of up to 72 hours. Featured 5-Axis machines include: the LX-160 Linear Motor Machine; the MX-330, MX-520 and MX-850 5-Axis Vertical Machining Centers; and the MAM72-35 5-Axis vertical Machining Center.

The Matsuura LX-160 High Speed Linear Motor Machine will feature PC42, 338 tools, spindle probe, laser tlm system and 46,000 spindle.

The LX-160 is the ultimate 5-axis vertical machine equipped with fast and accurate linear motors in all axes for machining with high-speed and high-precision. The three primary user industries for the LX-160 include:  Medical Components, Impellers and Molds. Extremely compact and accurate, the machine is also well suited for medical parts, small aerospace parts and any other small complex parts.  The LX-160 features exceptionally fast cutting and micro tools up to 46,000 RPM. Lights-out operation is up to 91 pallets and 338 tools.  A distinct aspect of the LX 160 is its ability to machine any part fitting into a 9” tall by 6.3” diameter cylinder.

The Matsuura MX-330 5-Axis Vertical Machining Center will debut at IMTS with 60 tools, 250mm table, spindle probe and laser tlm system, 15,000 Cat 40 Big Plus Spindle and full 5-Axis with scales.

The MX-330 is ideal for the medical and aerospace industries and other high precision components. The MX-330 offers an easy transition from 3-Axis to 5-sided or 5-axis production. The MX-330 delivers the best in machining center versatility with a standard Matsuura-made high accuracy spindle of 15,000 RPM with 48 ft-lbs. of torque. Optional 15,000 RPM with 88 ft-lbs. of torque and 20,000 RPM with 80 ft-lbs. of torque are available.  The MX-330 is excellent for small parts, but can handle parts up to 13” Dia. X 11.8” Ht. and weighing up to 177 lbs.

The Matsuura MX-520 5-Axis Vertical Machining Center located within Yamazen Inc.’s Booth S-8640 is configured with 12kp High Torque Spindle, 300mm table w/ flat tables and 60 tools.

The Matsuura MX-520 5-Axis Vertical Machining Center provides a simple, effortless and cost-effective transition for 3-Axis users making the transition to full 5-Axis operation. The MX-520 serves the Automobile, Aircraft and Medical Equipment.  It is a compact 5-Axis Vertical Machining Center featuring outstanding ergonomic design, which allows rapid set-up and processing of complex parts. The MX-520 is one of Matsuura’s most desired vertical machining centers and guarantees high rigidity, as well as, a generous machining envelope with excellent operability.

The Matsuura MX-850 5-Axis Vertical Machining Center at IMTS is configured with a 15k High Torque Spindle, 500mm table w/flat tables and 60 tools.

The MX-850 is a large-capacity, high-quality and cost-effective 5-Axis machining center. In addition to standard spindle of 12,000 RPM, optional spindle of 20,000 RPM for high speed machining or 15,000 RPM for heavy duty machining. The three primary user industries for the MX-850 include:  Aircraft (Hard-to-cut materials, Titanium and High-efficiency cutting), Energy (Cast-iron, Steel and Heavy-duty cutting) and Automobile (Aluminum and High-speed cutting). The MX-850 comes with a standard 500mm diameter table with adjacent side tables for workpiece preparation/finishing operations or an optional 700mm diameter table.

The MAM72-35V 5-Axis Vertical Machining Center at IMTS features a PC32 tower, 320 tools, a 20,000 RPM spindle and tailstock.

The MAM72-35V features high-accuracy complex five-axis machining with one-chucking to meet the need for cost-effective unmanned operation. The MAM72 Series delivers long periods of unmanned productivity, and provides versatility in the machining of very small to very large components.  Enhancing cost-savings and providing better positioning with a maximum of two total setups, the MAM72-35V provides pallet and productivity solutions. The MAM72-35V offers configurations from PC2 to Full Automation and Unmanned Running. The MAM72-35V is the solution for long periods of unmanned 5 axis simultaneous productivity.
