Japan-based Matsuura Machinery Opens First U.S. Headquarters in Saint Paul

Saint Paul, Minn. – April 9, 2013 – Matsuura Machinery USA, Inc., a fully owned subsidiary of Japanese-based, Matsuura Machinery Corporation, will host a grand opening celebration and press conference on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at 11 a.m., with remarks by Saint Paul Mayor Chris Coleman, Saint Paul Port Authority President Louis Jambois, third generation owner Katsu Matsuura, and other notable officials. Matsuura Machinery produces parts at the highest level of accuracy, from large pieces such as space shuttle components to small pieces like pacemaker mechanisms. Matsuura’s Saint Paul location expects to bring in $30 million in annual revenue and will be home to 24 employees, 4 of whom are on a temporary training assignment from Japan. In the next 18 months the company plans to have 30 employees on board. Worldwide, Matsuura brings in $170 million in annual revenue.

The grand opening celebration will be held at Matsuura Machinery USA’s new 38,000 sq.ft. facility in the River Bend Business Center, located at 325 Randolph Ave., Saint Paul, MN 55102. A light lunch and self-guided tours will be provided.

In 2012, Matsuura Machinery Corporation announced the planned opening of a U.S. headquarters in Minnesota to better serve their customers and the U.S. market, and to continue to improve machine tool technology and productivity. Matsuura currently has 10,000 installations in the U.S.

The new facility includes a large showroom and demonstration area, conference and training rooms, accessories and spare parts storage, along with administrative, service and engineering application support. The company also is planning to add a spindle repair facility. Right now only two other spindle repair facilities exist in the world.
