MATSUURA MACHINERY USA, INC. RECOGNIZES BROCK SMILEY FOR 5 YEARS OF SERVICE

St. Paul, MN (November 9, 2018) —— Matsuura Machinery USA, Inc. recently recognized Brock Smiley for five years of service.

President, Craig St. John recognized his contributions and service to the company at a celebratory luncheon.

“We are so fortunate to have the talent and gifts of all of our colleagues at Matsuura USA and recognize three individuals for their 5 years of service to the company” said Matsuura Machinery USA, Inc. President, Craig St. John.

Brock Smiley, Matsuura USA’s Spindle & Parts Coordinator is responsible for maintaining Matsuura’s expansive inventory of original, factory authorized parts. He assures critical parts are stocked for immediate shipment to and minimizes delivery delays or non-availability.

Smiley has coordinated the three expansions of the company’s parts department, including serving as the project manager for the addition of a mezzanine. The new level holds over 6,000 various parts.  Smiley implemented a barcoding system to comprehensively manage company’s parts.

Smiley also details customer data, performs necessary research and accurately processes orders while maintain a superior customer experience.  

Matsuura USA carries a stock of service exchange spindles rebuilt to the latest design and to the same standard as new for all machine types in the US, including obsolete machines. Matsuura Spindles are renowned for their enduring and accurate performance when cutting everything from aerospace aluminum, to hardened steels to exotic materials. Matsuura’s own Thermal Displacement Compensation Function assures repeatability in cut time and again over long production runs.

In 5 years, Matsuura USA has more than doubled in staff at their St. Paul, MN headquarters. The Service Department has grown and strengthened to meet the needs of the company’s soaring customer base, including: Support Representatives; Dedicated Phone Representatives; Service Coordinators; and Remote Service Engineers in Ohio, California, Arizona and North Carolina. The Matsuura USA Parts department has also doubled in size since the doors opened in 2013.

The Sales Department has greatly expanded as the demand for Matsuura’s high speed and high precision 5-axis CNC machine tools surge the US.  Since 2013, the sales team has more than tripled in size.

Additional team members have also been added to support the Matsuura LUMEX Avance Series and manage the Matsuura LUMEX Laboratory and demonstration facility.

Additional employees recognized include: Kristine Albrecht, Executive Assistant; Brock Smiley and Kelly Rose, Director of Marketing.

St. John explained that although Matsuura USA has doubled its staff, 7 team members have remained since Day 1.

In May, Matsuura USA recognized 11 employees for 5 years of service including: Toshikazu “Tom” Matsushita, Chief Service Specialist; Masataka “Mark” Yokota, Service Advisor; Brad Baker, VP Finance and Administration and was recently appointed to the Matsuura Board of Directors; Shawn Buboltz, began as a Service Engineer and now serves as the company’s National Service Manager; Sean Ormson, started as an Application Engineer and now serves as Application Engineering Manager; David Hudson, was a Regional Manager and now is the VP of Sales and Marketing; Santana Smith, began his career at Matsuura USA as a Warehouse Worker and now leads the Parts Team as Parts Manager; and Mr. Michael Carr has served as Chairman of the Board since 2013.

In addition, Matsuura and St. John recognized: Leo Erler, Application Engineer; Roger Breeggemann, who originally served as a Service Engineer, but is now the company’s Service Coordinator; and Jenna Pierce Bruber, who began her career as Accountant and is now the company’s Accounting Manager.
