St. Paul, MN (February 24, 2016) — Matsuura Machinery USA, an innovator in the development of high speed machining and the manufacture of automated, unmanned high accuracy CNC machine tools, is seeking qualified individuals for the position of Application Engineer at the company’s headquarters in St. Paul, MN.

The Matsuura Application Engineer will be responsible for training and supporting distributor engineers and Matsuura customers in the operation and troubleshooting of all Matsuura machining centers for machine software, machining applications, cutting conditions, control functions and Fanuc 5 axis functions. Application engineers will typically perform time studies, test cuts, CAM and manual programming, create CAD models, setup and execute machine cutting demos for both showroom machines and technical workshops and open houses, as well as troubleshoot machine functions and Matsuura software.
The ideal candidate must possess a minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in 5-axis machining center programming, setup and operation. Basic Macro B programming skills are required and a 2 year technical degree in machine tool technology is preferred.
The Matsuura USA Application Engineer will have excellent technical, communication and presentation skills, as well as the ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics. Experience with FANUC is also essential, while experience with Yasnac and/or Siemens is desired.
