JDM Machining, located in Staples, MN, purchased two Matsuura MX-520 PC4 machines to meet the high demand for their products, and to focus on the newest technology. While their need for high precision was at the top of the list, the ability to run 24/7 truly unattended was the gamechanger.
With support from Productivity Inc, JDM Machining continues to consistently meet their customers’ growing needs.
In this NEW video from Tony Gunn and MTD-CNC, Machinist, Kyle Moench explains “Precision is everything.”
JDM is an engineering company that offers moldmaking, turning, milling, heat treatment, and project management services, while also specializing in producing challenging products out of exotic materials. President, Jeremiah Miller, established JDM in 2001. The company has grown and evolved into a state-of-the-art 20,000 sq. ft. building. Proudly located in Central Minnesota, JDM boasts customers from all over the world.
With one Matsuura MX-520 PC4 machine, JDM produces three times the parts they previously did on a competitor machine.
JDM found success with Matsuura’s multiple pallets and the ability to run unattended, while holding tight tolerances, Moench explained.
JDM is committed to providing products that consistently meet or exceed their customers’ expectations of quality and efficiency with Matsuura and their local Matsuura Distributor, Productivity, Inc.
“We rarely have an issue with our Matsuuras, but if we need them, Productivity is always quick to respond and here early in the morning, versus others arriving late in the day,” Moench said.
“Using the most cutting edge technology and equipment in all of our operations, we ensure high quality production, while working closely with our customers along each step of the process to guarantee they receive the highest quality product,” Moench added.
The MX-520 PC4 5-axis VMC was designed in response to customers seeking a Matsuura automation solution for the MX-520 5-axis VMC. The machine is equipped with 90 tools and an installed Universal Robot Interface to maximize automation potential.
“Offering ease of use and reliable 5-axis machining, the MX Series delivers dynamic machining versatility, high accuracy, reliability and excellent cost-efficient performance,” said Andrew Templin, Midwest Regional Sales Manager.
Matsuura’s MX-520 5-axis VMC is designed to provide a simple and cost-effective transition for 3-axis users making the transition to full 5-axis operation. Designed with a RAM type structure, the MX-520 has a compact footprint with ergonomic design, allowing rapid set-up and processing of complex parts.
“The Matsuura MX-520 maintains high rigidity and features a generous machining envelope with enhanced operability. The MX-520 also offers an assortment of configurations, which are suitable for all applications, industries, and materials,” Templin explained.
The Matsuura MAXIA 12,000 RPM high-torque spindle is standard. A high-torque (187.0 Nm) motor is available to machine hard-to-cut materials. Matsuura’s 20,000 RPM (108.7 Nm) spindle for high-speed machining of aluminum parts is available as an option.
JDM Machining is committed to consistently provide products and services that meet or exceed the requirements and expectations of their customers with the motto, “Let’s Build Something Great Together.” Learn more about the capabilities of JDM Machining HERE.
