Meet Tyler Bonde, Matsuura’s Eastern Regional Product Manager

How long have you worked with Matsuura and what does your job entail? I’ve been with Matsuura for nearly 8 years and I work closely with our distributors to help oversee the sales and support of our Matsuura machines from Florida to Maine.

What is unusual or a memorable moment at Matsuura?  Unusual: I once trained a customer on a new Matsuura in a basement of an office building, where there were cadavers in a cooler next to the machine. Favorite: Working with the Matsuura team setting up for the IMTS shows. It always seems like there is no way we can get it all done in the amount of time we have to do it, but somehow we always do.

What is a career lesson you have learned thus far? I’ve learned it is beneficial to always be patient, keep my head down, ask lots of questions, pay attention and take good notes.

What is your favorite part of your role at Matsuura? I always enjoy working on a new sales opportunity, but I am also appreciative of opportunities to handle any issue in the field by “gathering the troops” and working as a team to find success.

What would you do (for a career) if you weren’t Matsuura’s Eastern Regional Product Manager? I’d love to open a beach bar in the Caribbean.

What do you do when not at Matsuura? I stay very active. I enjoy hiking, biking, snowboarding, working on and riding motorcycles, playing golf… I do have a hard time sitting still.

What is a fun fact many people do not know about you? A fun fact is that I am still the leader in broken windows on Matsuura machines. One of those broken windows occurred at IMTS 2014 and only 10 minutes prior to the show opening. This, of course, happened in front of Matsuura Machinery President, Katsutoshi Matsuura.
